Who We Are

The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation believes that every child deserves an equal opportunity for reaching their potential.

Success starts with basic needs that provide the essence for growth. Associated with the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society, but incorporated as a separate body with its own Board of Directors, the foundation funds programs for children and families with this purpose in mind.

The programs offered provide opportunities for children, youth and families to become empowered through the development of skill sets, self-esteem and self-confidence.Some programs were developed specifically to reflect our community needs and do not receive government funding, while other programs require subsidized funding.

The Board of Directors takes great pride in providing the financial support and resources that directly benefit our children and youth. Your support becomes the strength of a community that works together “Growing a Strong Future.”

Message From The President

The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation welcomes you to WECAF.ON.CA. Please use this web-site as a road map to the many destinations that assist and support the children, youth and families that the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society provides services. Along the way, no doubt you will find a program, event or testimonial that will inspire you to make a difference in the life of a child.

Now into the third year of the “You Can Write A Child’s Story” Campaign, I am proud to announce that as a result of the generosity of our caring community, over $400,000 has been raised each year, exceeding our goal. The Society receives very little government or alternative funding for the many programs that our campaign funds. As a Foundation, our mandate is to assure that these programs are available as it is these initiatives that are the catalyst for changing lives.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, “Thank You For Writing A Child’s Story”!

All families should have the opportunity to be successful and benefit from a strong support network. Our goal is to embrace families in times of need, reducing stress and isolation to empower effective parenting, These dynamics create opportunities for new beginnings for the whole family.

Education is the key to unlocking potential and contributing to personal growth and development of our youth. Through our programs and bursaries we are providing an opportunity for a positive educational experience. This experience supports employment, health and social wellbeing. When we support children in care we empower them to grow to their full potential as active members in the community.

We are dedicated to providing children in care the support, tools, experiences and encouragement for an enriched life. Growing a strong future means building resiliency, self-confidence and social skills that support a smooth transition to new beginnings. Recreational and group activities present opportunities to build relationships, give back to the community and interact with positive role models.
